About the Book
A former international basketball player, Erika had built her life around control, performance, and the illusion of success. But all it took was a family upheaval for the facade to crumble.
Suddenly cut off from her loved ones—her overwhelmed husband, her flighty eldest daughter—she finds herself plunged into a psychological limbo. A brutal confrontation with silence, the cracks in her childhood, and the inner voices she had spent her life silencing.
Amid outbursts of anger, corrosive lucidity, and flashes of tenderness, Erika has no choice left: she must make a decision, lay down her arms, and accept the chaos in order to finally learn to breathe again.
Le Tournant is the story of an intimate rebellion. The unfiltered journey of a woman who renounces the roles assigned to her to turn her life into an adventure.

Author's Note
A turning point is nothing like a smooth turn. It’s an abrupt break from what came before. It’s the moment when the ground gives way beneath our feet, when the machinery seizes up, and when certainties are swept away. It’s the moment when life is turned upside down, and when nothing will ever be the same again.
Some turning points tear us away from our roadmap to propel us toward something greater. Others, on the contrary, are head-on collisions or tsunamis that plunge us—without warning—into total darkness.
But whether it lifts us up or strikes us down, a turning point forces each of us to do the same thing: come face to face with ourselves.
In this liminal space where masks fall away and the illusion of control shatters, there is no longer any room for pretense. Only the essential remains.
It is precisely amid the chaos of this journey, at the very heart of our flaws and contradictions, that our truth emerges. The truth we have spent our lives concealing in order to perpetuate the myth of control.
Through Erika’s story, I wanted to explore this inner rebellion. That pivotal moment when laying down one’s arms is not an admission of weakness, but the first act of true emancipation. The moment when we stop merely enduring our lives and finally choose to live our own.
"What matters is the journey, not the destination."

« Tu t’intéresses à l’Autre ? Mes félicitations ! C’est important de ne pas penser qu’à soi. Mais rassure-moi, Erika, tu es au courant que l’autre, c’est aussi ta fille ? ton mari ? ton ami ? et toi, également ? jusqu’au jour où tu te connaîtras. Si jamais… »
